Abstract

A new series of substituted 1,2,4‐triazoles bearing thiophene molecules 8 and 10 has been synthesized from cycloaddition of thiophene 3‐and 2‐carbonitriles 5 and 9, respectively, with the reactive cumulene intermediates 4. The newly synthesized products have been evaluated for their anti‐HIV activity. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
