✦ Synopsis
Abstract
Natural (+)‐dactyloxene‐B (12) and ‐C (13) have been synthesized starting from (+)‐trans‐2, 5, 6‐trimethyl‐l‐cyclohexene‐l‐carbaldehyde (1) which is shown to have the (5__S__, 6__R__)‐configuration by chemical correlation with (+)‐(2__R__, 3__S__, 6__S__)‐2, 3, 6‐trimethylcyclohexanone. The absolute configurations are therefore (2__R__, 5__R__, 9__S__, 10__R__) for (+)‐dactyloxene‐B and (2__R__, 5__S__, 9__S__, 10__R__) for (+)‐dactyloxene‐C.
