Abstract

1,2,3,4‐Tetrachloropentafulvene‐6,6‐dicarbonitrile (2) is obtained by the reaction of 1,2,3,4‐tetrachloro‐1,3‐cyclopentadiene (1) with ethylenetetracarbonitrile by partial retro‐Michael addition. The electronic and ^13^C NMR spectra are discussed.
