Abstract

The synthesis of derivatives of the nonapeptide sequence β^11−19^‐corticotropin (Lys‐Pro‐Val‐Gly‐Lys‐Lys‐Arg‐Pro) which have been used for the preparation of a nonadecapeptide, β^1−19^‐corticotropin, displaying corticotropic activity(^1^), is described in detail. Combination of acid‐labile protecting groups (BOC‐, OtBu‐ and Trityl‐) were found to be especially useful for this and subsequent work, as they can be cleaved in a very specific manner under very mild conditions.
