✦ Synopsis

Polyazamacrocycles / Dinucleating ligands / Copper complexes / Oxalate complexes Synthesis and Structure of Dinuclear Copper(I1) Complexes of a Novel Hexaaza Macrocycle Containing Bridging Oxalate and Acetate Ions Non-template Schiff base [2 + 21 condensation of pyridine-The oxalate ligand in 3 forms a (p-q4:q4) bridge between the 2,6-dicarbaldehyde with 1,4-diarnino-Z-butyne yields the he-copper atoms. Compound 4 contains a syn-anti-bridging aceoxaazamacrocyclic ligand 1, which is converted to 2 by NaBH, tate ion. The Cu-Cu distances are 5.315 A in 3 and 4.746 A reduction of the imino groups. Two dinuclear copper(I1) comin 4, respectively. Oxalate can be separated from other carboplexes of 2 containing oxalate and acetate ions, (2)Cu2(p-xylates in aqueous solution by selective binding to the C204)2 (3) and (2)Cu2(p-CH,C02)(OH2), 25-[(2)Cu2] unit and precipitation of 3.

(NO& 75 (4), were characterized by X-ray crystallography.
