✦ Synopsis
Synthesis and Odour of Homoisocamphanylcyclohexanols
Diels‐Alder reaction of dienone 2 with 3‐methoxystyrene (3) leads to 4, which has been converted into a mixture of homoisocamphanylcyclohexanols (±)‐9a/b. The epimeric axial and equatorial alcohols have been separated by TLC, and their olfactory properties are described.
