Vor einiger Zeit konnten wir die Synthese des krystallinen Heptamethyl-/5'-methylcellobiosids (11, R = CH,O) aus Trimethyl-p-methylglucosid (I) und Tetramethylglucose-1-chlorhydrin beschreiben. z, Qleichzeitig war es gelungen, das Heptamethyl-@-benzyl-cellobiosid (11, R = C,H, .CH,O) durch katalytische Hydrierung in Heptamethyl-cellobiose (11, R = HO) und Toluol a~fzuspalten.~) Wenn dieses Biose- derivat in Ligroin mit Phosphorpentachlorid in Gegenwart von Natrium~arbonat~) behandelt wird, so geht es in ein siruposes, nicht destillierbares Produkt iiber, das zum Teil aus Heptamethyl-cellobiose-1-chlorhydrin (11, R = Ci; Konfiguration an C, unbekannt) besteht.
