✦ Synopsis

The inÑuence of the acidity of ultrastable Y (USY) zeolite-supported tungsten or nickel sulÐde catalysts, prepared at di †erent pH values, on thiophene hydrodesulfurization activity has been studied. The acidity a †ects the catalystsÏ deactivation. The results of the initial activity clearly show a synergic e †ect between the metal sulÐde centers and the acid sites present in the zeo-BrÔnsted lites.
