The operation of a picosecond synchronously intracavity pumped optical parametric oscillator (OPO) is reported. A magnesium doped lithium niobate crystal (MgO:PPLN), periodically poled, is used as the optical parametric oscillator crystal coupling the pump and the resonant signal cavities. The activ

✦ Synopsis
We developed an intracavity synchronously pumped optical parametrical oscillator, generating two independent trains of picosecond pulses at wavelength 1540 nm. We have improved and optimized experimental setup from the point of view of achievability of stable mode-locking and compensation of astigmatism. Present setup is as very little sensitive on the action of thermal lens generated in the Nd:YVO 4 crystal by laser diode pumping radiation and it is possible to work on wider range of pump intensities without risks of detuning of modelocking. The characteristic of laser system were measured and the influence of external conditions on dual pulse generation was studied. Laser diode M1 Nd:YVO4 M2 1.06 μm M4 M3 M5 M6 PPLN M9 M7 M8
