β¦ Synopsis
A novel method of vibration damping is presented. Motion of an object having one degree of freedom and provided with a synchronous vibration eliminator is described. The equations of motion have been solved numerically and a check performed to establish that the system will not vibrate. Synchronous motions of vibration eliminators (balancing bodies) have been investigated along with stability of the motion. The maximum frequency difference has been determined at which a possibility of obtaining motions synchronous with vibrations of the base still exist. The errors in positioning of the balancing bodies due to the presence of friction, and the sensitivity of the balancing due to these, have been calculated, for predetermined frequencies.
