During recent years hydrobiologists have given increasing attention to the determination of biogenic elements in waters, as well as to the improvement of methods of identification and quantitative det.ermination of organic substances in water and animals. This is highly import a n t in the solution of problems related t o biological productivit>.v and self-purification processes of water by organisms.

For t8he last several years, our laboratory has been engaged in the development of new methods.

We should like to be notified in the near future by and wlio may be interested in attending the symposium. It is intended that. lectures and discussions on the one hand, and demonstrations on the ot,her, will cover details and relative precision of various methods a t this symposium.
