The Wilson effect, used before only as a method of determining the physical depression of sunspots, is used here to estimate a quite different parameter-the sunspot symmetry axis inclination angle to the solar surface, this explains the observed negative Wilson effect. On the basis ofphotoheliogram
Solar radio bursts were observed with a 4-channel radiometer and polarization analyser at wavelenghts around 12 m. The time and frequency resolutions were 10 ms and 100 kHz respectively. Observations on the duration, time profile and frequency splitting are described.
