For the elastic scattering of spin Β½ particles by spin 0 scatterers four sets of closely related phase shifts are considered, namely ~,7~Β’o~.; (,7~Β’, = _~co~.; (~c~ =,7i-~o~ ' ,7~ =,7~Β’o~}~ .~,7~+Β’~1 = _,7~-.~o~, ~-.~3~ = _~z+Β’o~..

Experimen~Uy these four sets can only be distinguished from each other by polarization measurements before and after the scattering. A short discussion on the interactions responsible for the phase shifts is added.
