Abstract
A novel switchable coplanar waveguide (CPW) notch filter is developed using a microelectromechanical system (MEMS) switch element to perturb a patterned CPW centre‐conductor line. The switch element is easily integrated with the CPW due to isolation of DC bias from RF signal paths. An equivalent lumped‐element model has been developed for simulation of the electrical response of the filter. The measured notch frequency was shifted from 24.75 to 22.25 GHz, with greater then 20‐dB rejection in both states. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
