✦ Synopsis

Abstract

A switchable loop‐loaded printed dipole antenna is introduced for a frequency‐tuning operation. Two loop elements with extensions are placed asymmetrically at each side of a twisted dipole excited by a balun/feed vertically placed underneath the dipole. PIN diodes are used between each loop element and its extension to achieve switchable antenna operation for 3 and 5.5 GHz bands. Simulated and measurement results are presented to demonstrate the proposed tuning performance. Β© 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract This paper presents a wideband printed dipole‐antenna element. The broad bandwidth is achieved by optimization of the feeding network, which is implemented as a microstrip tapered balun. The design is based on double‐sided flat‐dipole implementation. The prototype antenna exhibits a mea

## Abstract A novel microstrip antenna applicable for multiband use is proposed in this work. The design was evolved from a conventional parallel stripline dipole with modifications in the dipole geometry and feeding structure. Those measures help introduce new resonant modes and increase bandwidth
