✦ Synopsis

A cell line was established from cell cultures of kidney cortex of a pantropical spotted dolphin. Stenellu cittetiuute. The replication of 6 strains of herpesviruses was studied in the cells. Five strains of them, herpes simplex virus type I and type 11, equine rhinopneumonitis virus, infectious bovine rhinotracheitis virus and Aujeszky's disease virus, were grown fairly well in showing clear cytopathic effects and plaques under agar overlay medium.
