✦ Synopsis
The cephalic vein provides a safe route for insertion of a central venous catheter under local anaesthesia, but difficulty may be encountered with the anatomical localization of the vein, particularly in obese patients. This study assessed the ability of an ultrasonographic Doppler probe to localize the cephalic vein before operation.
