Second, in both techniques, the 12mm cannula for the working instruments and gallbladder extraction is placed in the upper left quadrant. This incision has to be extended or forcefully stretched in patients with large gallstones. Unfortunately, this feature was not compared. The resulting scar -2 cm or more -in this prominent region can be a cause of cosmetic displeasure. However, only 'very satisfied', as opposed to 'not very satisfied', patients were compared.
