✦ Synopsis
tonne/y alkylene oxide adducts (AOA) plant at its Kinuura works. The new unit will increase the firm's overall AOA supply capability to roughly 200,000 tonnes/y. The facility is anticipated to begin full-scale production in FY 2010. AOA make up a quarter of Sanyo's annual sales and are one of the company's major businesses. AOA are based on propylene oxide, ethylene oxide or both oxides and are normally used as raw materials for surfactants as well as for polyurethane foam, polyurethane resins and lubricants. AOA are also used as intermediates for other Sanyo products.
