✦ Synopsis
The surface water storage capacity of individual leaves of lettuce, cucumber, and tomato plants was determined for different spray irrigation drop sizes, stem angles, and leaf temperatures. For a given type of plant, significant difference was found between spray drop sizes, but stem angle and temperature had no significant effect on the storage capacity. The average surface storage capacity was 0.20 ram, 0.18 ram, and 0.11 mm for lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers, respectively.
