## Abstract Resonance Raman spectra of nine sulfophthalein dyes have been measured in aqueous solutions at various pH values between 4.0 and 11.0. Raman band assignments have been carried out by referring to the spectra of related compounds and the band shifts of Phenol Red on deuteration of the tw

## Abstract A series of very sharp bands at ca. 50 cm^โˆ’1^ have been observed in the low frequency surface Raman spectra of tungsten and nickel in air and in vacuum (10^โˆ’5^ torr) which probably originate in a surface layer of adsorbed molecules.
