Activated carbon as catalyst support was treated with HCI, HNO,, and HF and the effects of acid treatments on the properties of the activated carbon support were studied by N, adsorption, mass titration, temperature-programmed desorption (TPD), and X-ray photoelectron spectrometry (XPS). Ni catalyst
