✦ Synopsis

Abstract

Treatment of (EtO)~2~SeO with Aerosil silica dehydroxylated at 500 °C results in the formation of a unique surface derivative [≡SiO−Se(O)OEt] (1), which has been fully characterized by elemental analysis, IR, labelling reaction and solid‐state NMR spectroscopy. This is the first example of a silica‐supported selenium(IV) derivative. (© Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, 69451 Weinheim, Germany, 2003)
