✦ Synopsis

The characteristics of macrospiral layers on growth surfaces of potassiuni bichroniate crystals and their quality are examined in relation to growth conditions. It was observed t h a t the layers become thick and rounded, more inclusions are trapped and the crystal quality deterioratcs with an increase in supersaturation, while an opposite effect is noted with an increase in growth temperature. The observations are discussed from the standpoint of crystal growth theories.
