## To modify the surface characters, carbon whiskers were oxidized with carbon dioxide. Adsorption isotherms were determined by using three kinds of adsorbates: nitrogen, n-butane, and trichloroethylene (TCE). Granular activated carbon was used as the standards of adsorbents. The surface chemical
