✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A simple and accurate volumetric method for the determination of fluorine is described. The titration is carried out in 50% methanol solution, using standard cerous chloride solution as titrant and murexide as indicator. Stoichiometric results are obtained with solutions containing 1 to 10 mg F. The method is suitable for titrating the distillates collected in the Willard‐Winter steam distillation of fluosilicic acid.
