Background. A multi-institutional retrospective study was performed to evaluate the efficacy of the supraomohyoid neck dissection (SOHND) for detection of occult cervical metastasis in squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity and oropharynx. Methods. Seventy-five previously untreated patients wit
