β¦ Synopsis
The paper briefly reviews the various techniques used in soot suppression and the mechanism of action by additives. The results of a study on eight organometallic additives tested for their efficacy in soot suppression are presented. The parameters examined were air/fuel weight ratio and the additive dosage in the fuel oil. The trends exhibited by various additives are discussed and optimum operating conditions are presented.
