Abstract

The superconducting state parameters for both nonsuperconductors and simple‐metal (nontransition‐metal) superconductors are evaluated using the exact OPW (orthogonalized‐plane‐wave) form‐factors based on the model pseudopotential of Heine and Abarenkov. An attempt is made to establish a criterion for the occurrence of superconductivity in non‐transition metals using the pseudopotential approach and it is inferred that more reliable values of the superconducting state parameters can be obtained using a correct pseudo‐potential and the phonon spectrum.
