β¦ Synopsis
The organic superconductors now have eight year history. The first generation (TMTSF)2X is characterized by the quasi one-dimensionality and the competition with SDW. Novel superconductivity mechanisms via the intramolecular vibration and by the anisotropic coupling have been argued. The BEDT-TTF salts have diversity in structures and attract attention because of the high Tc state. The sensitivity of Tc to disorder is explained in terms of the effect of the weak localization. The organic superconductors have expanded in species to include unsymmetrical donor DMET compounds and r~-acceptor Ni(dmit)2 ones.
