✦ Synopsis

Samples of nominal composition (Pbt_xVx)Sr2(Cat_zY,)Cu20~_6 (0.1 <x<0.7, 0<z< 1 ) synthesised at 950°C in air were investigated. None of the as-prepared samples and of the samples post-treated in oxygen was superconducting. Some of the sampies post-treated in argon at 500°C exhibited superconductivity; the main phase of the sample with the nominal composition (PbonV0.3) St2 (Cao.4Yo.6)Cu,O~_ 6 had a tetragonal unit cell with a = 3.822 A, c = 11.818 A. This sample showed a T¢owt of 40 K as measured by the temperature dependence of the resistance.
