โฆ Synopsis
A field-decay measurement technique to evaluate joints between superconducting multifilamentary wires is described. It permits the measurement of both the resistance of the joint and its current carrying capacity in a matter of a few hours. In addition, the evaluation can be conducted on a joint located in an ambient magnetic field.

A method of making joints between superconducting multifilamentary wires has been developed in connexion with the construction of a 7 T nmr magnet. Test results indicate that they have acceptably low resistances and carry sufficient currents.
