The newly-discovered homologous series HgBa&a.\_ r Cu 0 ,, 2n+2+6 [Hg-lZ(n-l)n] with n=l, 2, 3,... possesses the highest superconducting transition-temperature (T,) to date. Unfortunately, because of the complexity of its compound chemistry, it remains a challenge to prepare samples with pure or nea
