β¦ Synopsis
We have realized superconducting thin films of BSCCO 2212 using a molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) technique. The stoichiometry of the films is carefully controlled via EDS analysis and the repeatability of the deposition process is increased by realizing single element multilayers of Bi, Sr, Ca and Cu. The annealing of the films is accomplished during a post deposition process. Critical temperature of about 80 K has been obtained. The use of a source of activated atomic oxygen will allow in the close future the realization of "in situ" BSCCO thin films.
