✦ Synopsis
The format of the meeting continued a tradition established at the '88 and the '89 conferences and provided a forum for the community involved in high performance computing from universities, research laboratories, government, and vendors. Joining a Technical Program with an Exhibition, the organizers linked together the concept of trade fairs like Supercomputing Europe (last fair took place in Stuttgart, February 6-8, 1991) with that of conferences like the International Conference on Supercomputing [7] (ICS'91 will be held on June 17-21 in Cologne). The schedule of the Technical Program comprised up to four parallel sessions; one of them was mainly covered by panel or round-table discussions. Providing a supplement to and covering most of the conference's topics as well as emphasizing recent results and emerging technologies, a variety of tutorials and workshops preceded and succeeded the conference.
