Can use of alarms better reduce or eliminate night-time bedwetting (nocturnal enuresis), compared to other interventions or no intervention, in children and adolescents?

To answer this question, scientists working with the Cochrane Incontinence Group analysed 55 trials involving a total of 3152 children (aged five to 16 years) suffering from night-time bedwetting (nocturnal enuresis). The trials all included an alarm which was triggered by wetting as an intervention. Duration of treatment ranged from two to 12 weeks, however, children usually stopped using the intervention if they became dry before the end of the study.
