Invited participants represented eight different countries and both the academic and industrial community. Topics addressed first by the invited participants and then by the audience were:

1. The preferences with respect to designing implicit adaptive control systems which do not use parameter identification or explicit adaptive control systems which do require on-line parameter estimates. 2. The role of model reference adaptive systems. 3. Current trends in the theory of adaptive control. 4. Experience in implementing adaptive controllers in physical processes.
