✦ Synopsis


An approximate analytical solution, based on basic equations of gas-solid reactions, is proposed to deecribe the sulphur capture by calcium based sorbenta and their catalytic effects on NO, formation in FBC. The model is tested by experimental data obtained in both TGA and FBC units from literature. The model can well predict the optimal temperature for sulphur retention and the interactions between sulphur retention and NO, emissions from FBC.
