Book Reviews
Book Review Editor's Note The book review column lives! To the first two essay reviews, published in 1981 and 1982, we are finally able to add a third. I am pleased, indeed, that my Peabody/Vanderbilt colleague Jeanne Plas has taken up the challenge that J. R. Newbrough and I posed in initiating this column. We invited readers to help develop essay reviews of books, in or out of the field, as occasions for developing further perspective on community psychology. The 198 1 review concerned the political/historical writings of Garry Wills. In 1982, the topic was liberation theology. Now Jeanne Plas uses family systems theory as a point of departure for considering the nature of social change.
I continue to welcome comments and reactions to the columns, as well as inquiries from people wishing to do similar reviews of a particular area or to nominate others who might.
