✦ Synopsis
Successful use of risperidone after neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS): a 1-year follow-up Neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS) is a rare and an acute life-threatening reaction that can occur in patients on neuroleptic medication. Few authors have addressed the issue of re-challenge in previous NMS and further pharmacological approach to psychotic patients with a history of NMS is controversial. We report the case of a patient who responded well to risperidone, an atypical antipsychotic agent after developing NMS on receiving conventional antipsychotic agents.
