Weir Engineering Services and Demag Delaval Turbomachinery have signed a c o o p e r a t i o n a g r e e m e n t to provide maintenance services for turbomachincry in the UK.
The two c o m p a n i e s believe that their combination of kno, wh o w in t u r b o m a c h i n e r y and p u m p technology, and mainten a n c e contract m a n a g e m e n t , should o p e n up n e w growth o p p o r t u n i t i e s . The deal means that as a combination, WES and Demag Delaval can offer a "onestop shop" service to UK customers in the oil and gas, petrochemical, p o w e r and process industries, for overhaul, spares management, technical support, field service and training.
Peter Syme, managing director of WES, said the venture was the latest a g r e e m e n t signed with an i n t e r n a t i o n a l service c o m p a n y to attack value-added niche markets. "The tie-up with Demag Delaval will create an organisation offering an unrivalled service at the leadingedge in the t u r b o m a c h i n e r y market," he said.
