The cerebral activity preceding voluntary, self-paced ankle dorsiflexion movements while seated was compared with that before a stepping movement of the same foot while standing in four patients with isolated gait ignition failure. Results within the patient group were variable, but all exhibited so

Abstract
The precise anatomical location and pathophysiology of gait ignition failure (GIF) is poorly understood. We investigated the cerebral perfusion patterns using subtraction brain single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) in a patient with GIF. Subtraction brain SPECT imaging revealed an increased activity in the region of right ventrolateral midbrain and ventral medulla. Β© 2003 Movement Disorder Society

Freezing of gait (FOG) is a disabling gait disturbance with unknown cerebral pathophysiology. In this review, we discuss the functional brain imaging studies that address gait physiology and pathophysiology of FOG. Radiotracer metabolic studies show basal ganglia-cortical circuitry involvement in di
## Background: The use of 5-fluorouracil (5-fu) and levamisole in patients with stage iii adenocarcinoma of the colon has now become standard. there have been several reports of a multifocal cerebral demyelination syndrome following 5-fu and levamisole administration. ## Methods: We describe a pa
Background: Ulcerative colitis (UC) is associated with psychological stress and poor emotional functioning. The neural emotional processing involves the complex integration of several cortical and subcortical brain structures. The amygdala plays a fundamental role in the neural processing of emotion
Recently there has been an increased urge towards y-labelled tracers for in vivo dopamine receptors studies in human brain with SPECT. As 99m Tc chelate compunds for that purpose remain wishfull thinking until now, only 123 I labelled molecules can actually fulfil the technical requirements of imagi
