A new dc Josephson Inductive Kinetic Amplifier (IKA) has been proposed to measure weak magnetic fields with high sensitivity. In the present work the quantum noise intrinsic to the device is analyzed at 4.2K and we show that the IKA is capable of subquantum limit measurement of dc magnetic fields.

We integrate into a unifed model the fundamental conclusions of previous theoretical works concerning the quantum theory of linear optical amplifiers. We analyze the statistical processes contributing to noise in both laser and parametric amplification. We show that the so-called ''signalramplified
