GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Fuel is by definition a journal of fuel and energy science and technology and is not intended as a medium for publishing descriptions of plant results, except when the latter make a contribution to scientific understanding. The work described should possess novelty. Repetition of earlier work, even though on a different series of fuels, can in general satisfy this requirement only if it leads to new and unexpected conclusions. As an alternative to full papers, the journal publishes short scientific communications as Letters to the Editor. The contents of a paper should not previously have appeared in Fuel as Letters to the Editor.
