The millimeter-and submillimeter-wave spectra of CuF and AgF in the X 1 + states were observed by employing a sourcemodulated microwave spectrometer. The CuF and AgF molecules were generated in a free space cell by a dc glow discharge in CF 4 and Ar. The copper and silver atoms were respectively sup

✦ Synopsis
Pure rotational transitions of the sulfur monoxide isotopomers 32 S 16 O, 34 S 16 O, and 32 S 18 O were measured in different vibrational states of the electronic states a 1 D and b 1 S / with the Cologne terahertz spectrometer in the submillimeterwave region between 300 and 1070 GHz. The new lines were analyzed together with previous results from the literature in a global fit yielding isotopically invariant rotational parameters for both states. The measurements reported here allowed for the first time the determination of the parameters U S 01 and U O 01 to correct for the breakdown of the Born-Oppenheimer approximation analogously to the X 3 S 0 state. Precise equilibrium bond lengths r e are given for all states concerned.
