Franklin Electric Company is the world's largest manufacturer of submersible electric motors and a leading producer of engineered speciality electric motor products and electronic controis used by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) around the world, in a wide variety of residential, industrial and municipal applications.
The p r i n c i p l e a p p l i c a t i o n for Franklin's submersible electric motors is providing the electrical driver for water well p u m p i n g systems. These submersible motors are also used in underground gasoline and diesel fuel storage p u m p i n g systems and wastewater handling systems.
Franklin's engineered speciality electric motor products and electric controls are used in a wide variety of industrial products, including gasoline dispensers, paint sprayers, electric hoists, explosion-proof vapour exhaust fans, vacuum p u m p i n g systems, livestock feeding systems, and soft ice cream machines.

The European operation, Franklin Electric Europa, GmbH, has been headquartered for over thirty years in Wittlich, Germany. The c o m p a n y employs about 300 individuals and covers the European and Middle East regions in terms of Sales, Distribution, and Service. Since 1992 the company is certified according to the ISO 9001 standards. Continuous improvements of product and service quality and product and service availability are the c o m p a n y ' s p r i m a r y focus. A team of Area Sales Managers, C u s t o m e r Assistants, Field Service Engineers, and Product Managers, all multi-lingual, assist customers and provide service to the entire industry. In the field, the Field Service Engineers are b a c k e d by a n e t w o r k of regional FAMS (Franklin Authorised Motor Service) shops and provide technical and warranty service to manufacturers, installers, and users of Franklin products. History E.J. (Ed) Schaefer and T. W. (Wayne) Kehoe of Fort Wayne, Indiana founded Franklin Electric in Bluffton, Indiana in November 1944 while World War II was still raging b o t h in Europe and the Pacific.
