A simple and cost-effective tunable single-mode laser is proposed and experimentally demonstrated using FP-LD which inherently oscillates at multi wavelengths. As the operating temperature changes, the peak wavelength hops by an amount of FP-LD mode separation and overall tuning range is about 10 nm
