✦ Synopsis

The magnetic-field distribution in the mixed state of superconducting Nb$n powder has been studied by the NMR decoration method. As NMR probe we have used thin silicone oil layers formed around individual grains of the NbsSn powder. The thickness of the silicone layer is smaller than the flux-lattice parameter, a necessary condition to study with NMR the intrinsic tield inhomogeneity. By measuring the temperature dependence of the additional NMR-line broadening, we were able to determine the penetration depth I and its temperature dependence.
