The kinetics of the reaction of M O O S ~( S ~C N R ~) ~

( R = C H ? , C2H,, n-C,H,) with PPh3 have been studied using a Stopped-flow method. It was found t h a t these M o O S ~~S ~C N R ~) ~ complexes react with PPh, in the form of an irreversible second-order reaction. The rate constants at 25Β°C are respectively 48.4,23.8, and 20.8 mol-' dm3 sK1 and the activation energies are 4.8, 4.9, and 5.0 Kcal/mol with R = CH,, C2H5, and n-C,H,.

## Abstract Polymerization of 1,3‐butadiene with the CoBr~2~(PPh~3~)~2~/MgCl~2~/SiPh~2~(OCH~3~)~2~‐Al(CH~3~)~3~ catalyst system was conducted in the presence of ethylene. It was found that addition of ethylene causes a marked decrease in the molecular weight of polybutadiene although ethylene is no
