Abstract
We present a method for the direct correlation of quantitative changes in lactate concentration and intracellular pH during global ischemia in the perfused rat heart using rapidly interleaved ^31^P MRS and water‐suppressed ^1^H MRS acquisitions. The ischemic myocardial buffering capacity was determined and found to be consistent with previous experimentation.
